Born Javier Alberto Mendoza in Virginia to a Spanish mother and a Mexican-American father, music has always been his foundation. His career began in Miami as a staff writer for Warner-Chappell Music, writing for artists like Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, Juanes, and Rosario. He later moved to St. Louis, where he built a devoted following and strengthened his artistic voice, then relocated to Nashville in 2014 to launch his most personal project yet: Hobo Cane. Today, Javier divides his time between St. Louis and Nashville, constantly creating and evolving. Guided by the belief that music heals and connects, he has performed hundreds of benefit concerts for organizations such as World Pediatrics, Nurses for Newborns, and Pan y Amor. During the pandemic, he brought together over 20 musicians worldwide for the instrumental piece “Respira,” raising more than $10,000 for out-of-work musicians and struggling venues. A believer in authentic, heart-driven music, Javier continues to write, record, produce, and tour—sharing a message the world needs now more than ever: positivity, truth, justice, hope, and love.
